Summary
The subject of this paper is the development of zero-dimensional simulation models capable of predicting the burn rate for large pre-chamber gas engines. The calculation of the ignition delay in the pre-chamber is based on the Arrhenius equation for the formation rate of radicals considering also the influence of turbulence. The models for the burn rate in the pre-chamber and the main chamber are based on Magnussen's formula for the reaction rate. The verification of the models is based on measurement data from two single cylinder research engines with about 6 and 4 liter displacement.
