Summary

This paper describes and discusses details of the Delphi Diesel Systems Heavy Duty common rail systems which are the latest generation of fuel injection equipment, designed to provide Euro VI performance requirements, and allows OEM’s to upgrade engines with little or no engine modifications. They are designed to be capable of up to 3000bar injection pressures, with at least 5 injections per cycle, whilst still maintaining high efficiency. This is achieved through class leading injector design and configurable pump layout with unique control and selectable displacement options.
