Summary
The TRATON Group is the commercial vehicle division of the Volkswagen Group and serves with the brands Scania, MAN, International and VW customers in the different global markets.
The industry faces several trends (e.g. new competitors or geopolitical and technological changes), which creates new challenges in innovation, speed and cost.
The TRATON Modular System is the key lever to stay globally competitive. It is being developed under the TRATON R&D umbrella with 12,000 employees and R&D sites in Europe, Asia, North America and South America. It combines battery-electric, conventional, and alternative powertrains in a modular, scalable architecture, thereby leveraging technological synergies and consolidating global development activities efficiently. The system’s modularity means it can be adapted flexibly to respond to geopolitical and technological changes.
