Summary

Limiting global warming to 1,5°C is the common goal of the worldwide economies. On this basis Europe has launched its Green Deal, and the European Commission has proposed its Fitfor55 Program reducing the tank to wheel CO2 emissions from transport by 55% in 2030, and by 100% in 2035. Additionally, the European Commission has proposed EURO 7 regulation, strengthening its requirements to reduce all types of exhaust emissions.

In the meantime, the main industrial regions in the world acknowledge the need for a carbon free energy carrier to energy storage, import-export, and several demanding industrial and transport applications.
