Summary
As the transportation sector moves toward a decarbonization of mobility, the challenge will be to keep similar vehicle performance in terms of range, power and total cost of ownership. The Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (H2ICE) has emerged as a strong candidate to meet these needs particularly for high load and long range applications, but on the systems level its implementation is still immature. Consequently, there is great need for modelling tools to support the engine and vehicle system architecture development to better meet all performance objectives and facilitate a rapid carbon free transition of the transportation sector.
