Summary

A distracted or inattentive driver poses a risk to himself and other road users. Loss of attention can lead to situations where the vehicle drives dangerously close to a preceding vehicle or sways towards vehicles driving on the adjacent lanes. This can lead to serious consequences. To increase road safety and driver comfort Valeo has developed a system that can actively monitor the status of the driver and intervene based on the perceived driver distraction level.
