Summary
A significant reduction of the CO2 emissions and fuel consumption of future passenger cars is leading to an increase of the cylinder pressure. This results in increased component dimensions, not to hazard the consequences in rising the base engine friction is it necessary to take measures to reduce the mean effective pressure in the future. Of the numerous technologies available, the detailed optimisation of all components together with their meticulous application offer significant reductions in CO2.
