Summary
Climate change becomes an inevitable truth nowadays. In EU, CO2 emissions from most sectors have decreased gradually since 1990. However, CO2 emission from international shipping is increased nearly 34% as shown in Figure 1. Thus, the marine transportation accounts for 2 to 3% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, which is the seventh-largest emission among countries in the world.
