Summary
AVL and the partners of the funded project KEYTECH4EV developed and built a fuel cell plug-in concept car based on a conversion design of a VW Passat GTE. The fuel cell system, which was developed and integrated into the concept vehicle is to a large extent based on components that are available on the market. The fuel cell system contains also newly developed components to improve performance and efficiency. In addition, AVL is integrating the innovative and real-time capable onboard diagnostics system THDA into the automotive fuel cell system to enable diagnostics-based control.
The development, integration and evaluation of the car is done within the R&D project KEYTECH4EV, which is funded by the climate and energy funds within the energy research program.
