Summary
Renewable methanol could significantly reduce greenhouse gas impact of marine transportation. Yet, the associated pollutant emissions could pose significant challenges for compliance and safety. Modular exhaust gas aftertreatment systems are presented which are adapted to different emission limits as well as to the specific exhaust gas compositions characteristic for premixed or direct injection methanol dual fuel engines.
