Summary
The acoustic optimization of motor and power train requires much time and effort. Acoustic engineers need a lot of experience and ability in their respective fields of work. A great challenge lays it the delivery of the results on coworkers in other departments such as Construction, Design and Testing, as well as to final decision makers and component suppliers. Tools for analysis, including the visual depiction of acoustic results are needed. Since 2003 DaimlerChrysler uses acoustic camera equipment in the NVH motor- and power train department. The presentation will include the first experiences, impressions, and practical examples in respect to the use of Acoustic Cameras. Pros and cons, possibilities and short comings of this new method will be discussed. Introductory we discuss the history of acoustic imaging at Daimler and at the GFaI.
Lectures from the International Vienna Motor Symposium can be ordered from the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK). Lectures can only be purchased in the form of the complete conference documents, individual lectures are not available.
When placing an order, please note the year/name of the event (e.g. "45th International Vienna Motor Symposium 2024") for the further ordering process.
Members of the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers have access to all lectures of the International Vienna Motor Symposia.
