Summary
The move to electric vehicles is one of the most significant driving forces in the development of electric drivetrain architectures at Mercedes-Benz. This presentation uses the example of the EQS to illustrate the innovations with the potential to act as disruptive forces during the phase of transition toward all-electric vehicles and how Mercedes-Benz is preparing to become all-electric before the end of the decade and wherever market conditions allow.
Efficient electric drive systems, battery concepts and charging technologies, as well as digitalization, interconnectivity and sustainability, all have major roles to play in development. We will present the Electric Vehicle Architecture and its technologies, along with the integral interactions involved in creating a highly efficient vehicle. Taking the EQS luxury sedan as our example, we will show how comfort, convenience, efficiency and digitalization fit together at the highest level right from the outset with "purpose design" and smart operating strategies.
