Summary
The most powerful AMG V8 (537 kW / 730 hp) series engine of all time, the most expressive design, the most elaborate aerodynamics, the most intelligent material mix, the most distinctive driving dynamics: The new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.
The vehicle concept of the AMG GT Black Series is in substance characterized by the requirements in terms of aerodynamics, cooling and thermal management in order to achieve a certain performance target. The paper describes the technical development and improvement of an already Nürburgring Lap time record vehicle: the MercedesAMG GT R. [1]. Starting with the definition of the performance including e.g. engine power, aerodynamics and weight, calculated to reach even faster lap times. The conceptual solutions, the layout and the design of the components used to achieve the desired level of performance is explained, including the development of innovative active aerodynamics and the choice of materials to achieve the lightweight targets.
