Summary
Robo-taxis, also known as Automated Mobility-as-a-Service or A-MaaS, are the subject of much hype and speculation worldwide, particularly in the U.S. given extensive investments and activities by the automotive industry and startup firms.
Oriented towards the use cases of robo-shuttles, automated transit vehicles, and robo-taxi’, this paper explores the rationale for A-MaaS, technology factors, and the dynamics of the various government and industry sectors that must interact to bring about initial A-MaaS deployment, which the author sees as imminent.
