Summary
Nissan have developed a new Electric Vehicle (EV) named “Nissan LEAF”. Sales of the Nissan LEAF has already started in North America, Japan and Europe, with plans to sell it globally by 2012. The Nissan LEAF was developed in consideration of Safety and Reliability particularly to be mindful for EV first time users. As a result, Nissan LEAF has earned an excellent reputation from the market. For example, EuroNCAP and US-NCAP evaluated it’s safety performance as the highest rating “5-star”, and also, US-IIHS released evaluation result with the highest rating “Top safety pick”. In addition, Nissan ensured high performance and equipment level to solicit attractiveness for Nissan LEAF. As a result, Nissan LEAF has won prestigious prizes such as "World car of the year" and "European car of the year”.
