Summary

Hyundai Motor Group has developed a comprehensive powertrain portfolio over approximately 40 years, evolving from the Alpha engine—its first in-house powertrain—to advanced electrified systems across hybrid, BEV, and EREV platforms. Central to the group's future strategy is a tri-axis approach encompassing internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrid systems, and EVs, designed to address diverse uncertainties in regulations, infrastructure, and customer demands. The second-generation hybrid system, adopting a P1·P2 topology, expands the electrification range from 100 PS entry-level to 500 PS high-performance applications, while the 800V modular EV platform enables scalable deployment from mass-market to performance segments.
