Summary

Recently, the stationary gas engines have been becoming an increased market share and importance in power generation of biomass utilization. In a multilateral project the lubrication aspects of the behavior between gas engine oil, fuel gas quality and operation conditions have been investigated. The main purpose of these investigations was to obtain the appropriate approach for the future engine oil developments and to find background information especially in regard to relationship between the gas engine oil chemistry and biogas or other non-natural gas fuel composition, supporting the formulation works in development of high performance gas engine oils for lubrication of modern, high loaded stationary engine application.
