Summary
While CO2 and pollutant emissions reduction are their main concern, automotive manufacturers still want their customers to experience the fun of driving. Several paths are open to them to meet future stringent regulations. One is to continue down the « downsizing » path, which has already reduced fuel consumption in the past years. However, continued engine displacement reduction has its drawbacks, such as: a) increased turbo-lag, affecting vehicle driveability b) less performant launchability of high segment cars fitted with highly downsized engines, c) dampening issues related to the increase of specific power per liter.
Lectures from the International Vienna Motor Symposium can be ordered from the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK). Lectures can only be purchased in the form of the complete conference documents, individual lectures are not available.
When placing an order, please note the year/name of the event (e.g. "45th International Vienna Motor Symposium 2024") for the further ordering process.
Members of the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers have access to all lectures of the International Vienna Motor Symposia.
