Summary
For carmakers, the urge to decarbonize their activity is getting increasingly pressing. At Renault Group, we are therefore setting ambitious targets: we committed to contribute to carbon neutrality in Europe by 2040 and globally by 2050. When it comes to building a sustainable and accessible mobility, we have two strong convictions. First, the “cradle to grave” approach is the best way to tackle decarbonization. In addition, assuming an ecosystemic and horizontal approach to innovation is the most effective path to shift towards sustainable automotive and to cover the new value chain.
The shift towards electromobility will be progressive and uneven. That is why, Renault keeps exploring many technological paths at the same time: EV, ICE, hybrid vehicles, alternative fuels, hydrogen. Developing Renault Group’s new power-train line-up in this context requires a strong rationalization effort.
