Summary
Dramatic increases in the price of oil are continuing to stoke the fear of energy shortages and are leading to a substantial rise in fuel prices. Customers are responding by changing their buying behaviour and the situation is further aggravated by growing government regimentation throughout Europe. The BMW Group began to react to these changing requirements and safeguard sustained mobility many years ago with its holistic BMW EfficientDynamics concept. Electrification, brake energy regeneration, Auto Start/Stop and efficient drive technologies are the essential building blocks of this approach.
