Summary

The introduction of new technologies is connected with ever higher investments. This is a substantial burden for the entire automotive industry, and especially for automotive suppliers, whose share in value added is rising continuously. This makes it all the more important that these investments should result in products that can be brought to market on a sufficiently wide scale as quickly as possible. To ensure this is the case, innovations will in the future have to be oriented even more to customer benefit than they have been up to now. Credit will only be given to features that offer real value to the end customer – in terms of both function and price.
