Summary

With the new type 6-F motor version the best in class high speed engine in the 2 -3 MW range will be presented. Miller valve timing, high pressure turbo charging, optimized components and combustion system are a few keywords that describe the new version. A further advancement is currently in progress, increasing the type 6 family to include a 24 cylinder motor. To achieve this, the necessary development activities have been supported by intensive CAE, with special attention paid to the power train and the installation concept. With the J624 GE - Jenbacher is well placed for the future in the 4MW market segment. The first test runs have already been successfully completed, whereby all expectations to date have been fulfilled.
