Summary

Within the context of a research project of ESI ITI GmbH in cooperation with the TU Dresden, a modularly structured chassis library for SimulationX is being developed. The data is transferred consistently and user-friendly by using a Parameterization Line consisting of various test benches.
The measurements are carried out at component, subsystem and total vehicle level. In addition to geometry and mass data, it is also possible to determine the characteristics of the rubber suspension mounts, for example, which are essential for elastokinematics. Model parameters are determined directly by means of suitable evaluations or by optimization. The chassis library for the construction of the vehicle models contains not only main chassis components such as link, shock absorber and bearing models but also readymade templates for all common axle types as well as model elements for the driver, track and environment. The level of detail of the axles ranges from characteristic curvebased models for driving dynamics to detailed multi-body models that take elastokinematics into account. The level of detail can be changed by just a few clicks. The transfer
of the parameters determined on the parameterisation line is performed table- and script-based in a central parameter block, so that the parameterisation is clearly bundled in one place.
This procedure ensures that the parameterization is tailored directly to the model structure and valid models are created.
