Summary

As global car maker selling in over 170 markets, Toyota aims to provide all customers with an appropriate solution for their needs. Toyota plans to continue offering diverse powertrains for the diverse needs, while reducing carbon emissions. Depending on the various global markets, Toyota sees a long-term key role for hybrid and plug-in hybrid technology including combustion engines running on hydrogen or carbon neutral fuels while battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) will gain importance over time. In parallel, strong steps towards carbon neutrality in the manufacturing and supply chain area are required. Toyota aims to achieve global carbon neutrality by 2050, with the European operations planning to be 10 years ahead of the global timeline.
